High School Heroes

High School Hero Challenge Dates: May 16, 2021 - May 15, 2022

About Our High School Heroes Program

Our local high schools play an important role in maintaining the Coastal Bend community’s blood supply. They account for more than 30% of the blood that is collected for our local medical facilities. This year's High School Heroes program is an opportunity for the Blood Center to show our gratitude to all students and staff members, for their ongoing efforts to bring awareness to donating blood during these unprecedented times. High school blood drives are a chance for the youth of our community to give back to others on a level that is not commonly found in other volunteer opportunities. These blood drives are a great way to foster a sense of community involvement within our area youth while providing those hosting the drive with a convenient and easy way to gain volunteer service hours.

Currently 53 Coastal Bend high schools show their community spirit by donating blood during the school year.
