Volunteer Opportunities

As a Coastal Bend Blood Center volunteer, you will have the opportunity to be involved in our life-saving mission. The Blood Center is dedicated to providing well-trained community volunteers for appropriate placement in a variety of areas.

We ask that you commit to a minimum of 2-4 hours per week for a six-month period.  Please do not complete a volunteer application if you need practicum, internship, shadowing or college requirement hours. Instead, please contact the Human Resources Department at 361-737-0402 for more information.

Volunteer Qualifications
Volunteers must provide their own transportation to and from all volunteer assignments, orientation and any additional training. The Blood Center will not accept volunteer phlebotomists or court-ordered community service.

Those ages 13-17 can volunteer with parental consent and a Volunteer Permission Form will need to be submitted with the application. All volunteers over the age of 18 must complete a Background/Screening Check.
