Update Blood Donor For All Seasons

We are now in the final month of our Fall season.  All donors who have enrolled in the Blood Donor for All Seasons program must be sure to have completed all four of their donations for the year by the end of November.  Each donor who carries out their donation commitment will receive a commemorative long-sleeved shirt.  The shirt order will be placed at the first of December and donors should be able to pick up their shirts before the beginning of the new year.

We at the Coastal Bend Blood Center want to make sure it is there for those who need it.  This program was developed to help prevent blood shortages in the Coastal Bend by having donors commit to making a minimum of four donations a year, one for each of the four seasons.

    Spring: March, April, May

Corpus Christi Medical Center CEO Accepts Lifesaving Award
Doctors Regional places first in second annual Hospital Summer Showdown

Corpus Christi Medical Center CEO, Jim Montgomery, accepted the Coastal Bend Blood Center’s “Blood Cup” on behalf of Doctors Regional for its win in the 2nd annual Hospital Summer Showdown blood drive competition.

This friendly competition challenged nine of the Coastal Bend Blood Center’s partner hospitals to have the highest percentage of participation during their regularly scheduled summer blood drives. Participating hospitals donated a total of 333 units between June 1st and July 31st, a 22% increase over the previous year. Doctors Regional took home first place with a total of 8.2% participation.

“Hospital employees see first hand how valuable our blood supply is,” said Erin Peterson, Director of Donor Development for the Blood Center.  "We greatly welcome the opportunity to honor them for their commitment to the healthcare of our community."

Doctors Regional also took this opportunity to recognize one of its employees, Michael Gilley, who has been a committed blood donor and is approaching the six gallon mark for his donations.
