The Coastal Bend Blood Center is currently seeking creative, talented students to design its next high school blood donor t-shirt. Each year the Blood Center designs a Fall and Spring semester shirt to be given away at area high school blood drives. This year the Blood Center is going straight to the source and providing an opportunity for one lucky student to see his or her vision come to life in the Fall of 2010.

Despite the rain this year's Fun Run was another great success.  Participants and volunteers alike battled the weather in the name of the Blood Center and the clouds broke just in time for the run to get underway.  Thank you to everyone who participated in this year's event.  We look forward to seeing you again next year.

17th ANNUAL "OUT FOR BLOOD" FUN RUN

The second year for the Blood Donor for All Seasons program has seen it grow by leaps and bounds with nearly 1,600 donors registering to participate.

June marks the beginning of our Summer season and many of our first participants in the program will soon be eligible to make their third donation.  Remember whole blood donors are able to give every 56 days!

Program Overview
"Every two seconds someone needs blood." - America's Blood Centers
We at the Coastal Bend Blood Center want to make sure it is there for those who need it.  This program was developed to help prevent blood shortages in the Coastal Bend by having donors commit to making a minimum of four donations a year, one for each of the four seasons.

    Winter: December, January, February
    Spring: March, April, May
    Summer: June, July, August
    Fall: September, October, November

The Coastal Bend Blood Center has been officially recognized as one of the “Best Places to Work” in the Coastal Bend. During an awards ceremony held at the Omni on Wednesday, February 18th, the Coastal Bend Blood Center placed first for the Best Places to Work among mid-sized companies of between 51-250 employees.

While the Blood Center has been recognized as a finalist before, this is the first year for the organization to bring home the title. And, the first time ever for a company with a woman CEO to take home top honors.
