PHLEBOTOMIST – F/T

MUST have phlebotomy experience and/or (1) one year experience in medical/health field.

  • Perform medical histories, vital signs & phlebotomy
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule that includes early mornings and/or late evenings in addition to Saturdays or Sundays
  • Position involves frequent interaction with the public requiring a high level of customer service.
  • Additionally, the position is required to perform these procedures in accordance with current regulatory, organizational and OSHA standards and requirements to ensure a safe blood supply.
  • Occasional driving of company vehicles which requires a current TX DL & clean driving record; minimum 21 yrs. old


MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIST – F/T

This position performs technical duties and clinical testing in accordance with manufacturer instructions, FDA/CLIA guidelines, AABB recommendations and Coastal Bend Blood Center Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s). This position performs testing related to product qualification and quality control, serologic testing for referred patient samples and blood/blood component preparation. Must organize and prioritize workflow to meet established deadlines and provide timely results and/or blood to consignees. Must be able to work independently. This position requires working irregular hours, holidays, weekends and rotating on-call.

This position must also have knowledge in complex antibody identification/resolution; knowledge of and ability to utilize multi-tasking computer systems including Microsoft Office; knowledge in Quality Control/Quality Assurance; Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• MT/MLT (ASCP or equivalent)
• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or a related science, or Associate’s degree in medical Laboratory Technology or a related science
• Completion of NAACLS accredited Clinical Laboratory Science Program
• Blood Bank experience preferred
• One Year clinical laboratory experience preferred
• Current Texas Driver’s License with Clean Driving Record
