FT - Phlebotomist FT - Fleet Maintenance/Mechanic Responsible for ensuring that all Blood Center vehicles are maintained and repaired in a safe & cost effective manner in keeping with federal, state and local codes and regulations. Maintain the upkeep and appearance of vehicles; Maintain vehicle maintenance records; Must be able to rotate on-call responsibility & respond to emergencies; Must be able to work a full-time schedule including overtime, weekends & holidays as needed. Assist in general building maint. & equipment repair; minor const. projects janitorial services; grounds maint.; etc. - Ability in decision-making, teamwork, use of discretion, & problem analysis. 3-5 yrs. Exp./Req’d. In vehicle/automotive maint., troubleshooting, repair & demonstrated knowledge of automotive diagnosis & equipment. Certification in automotive repair/pref.; knowledge of general building maint. & repair (electrical, plumbing, etc.) pref.; Basic Computer Exp./desired. HS Grad./Equivalent; Valid TX CDL/Req’d. with clean driving record; Drug/alcohol test & Background Check. FT - Laboratory Manager Coastal Bend Blood Center is looking for an individual responsible for operational oversight of Blood Bank/Transfusion Service & Blood/Blood Component Processing. Demands of this role require professional who is self-directed, motivated, flexible & possesses excellent interpersonal skills Laboratory Manager is primarily responsible for ensuring laboratory’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) reflect current Good Manufacturing Processes (cGMPs) & comply with federal & state regulatory agencies, where applicable. Lab Manager ultimately responsible for accuracy & timeliness of laboratory testing, recording, reviewing of results, manufacturing & labeling of blood products & ensuring that product safety, quality, identification, potency & purity meets or exceeds industry standards. Develops & implements SOPs to ensure cGMPs are followed & processes comply with federal & state regulatory agencies, where applicable. Develops & implements validation protocols. Evaluates laboratory equipment & supplies & makes purchasing recommendations to ensure efficient laboratory operations. Maintains sufficient inventory levels of disposable supplies, maximizes cost effectiveness & ensures efficient utilization of supplies & equipment. Provides technical guidance to appropriate internal departments on new & existing processes affecting laboratory & product safety, quality, potency & purity. Manages error/accident reporting, conducts root-cause analysis, & ensures appropriate corrective & preventative actions are taken. Know, follow & enforce safety rules relative to area(s) of responsibility. Five + years laboratory & three + years supervisory exp. req’d. Previous blood center operations exp. req’d. Bachelor’s degree in chemical, biological, physical, medical technology or clinical laboratory science req’ d. American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) certificate req’d & Specialist Blood Banking (SBB) certificate pref’d. - Current Tx. DL/clean driving record; Drug/Alcohol & Background Check.
