COASTAL BEND BLOOD CENTER ANNOUNCES HIGH SCHOOL HEROES
Coastal Bend Blood Center hosted its High School Hero Challenge awards luncheon to honor the 48 area high schools that participate in the organization’s annual blood drive competition.

CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS. May 18, 2011 – Over 150 students, teachers and staff representing 48 Coastal Bend high schools gathered at 11:00 am on Wednesday, May 18th at Mansion Royal to celebrate the conclusion of the Coastal Bend Blood Center’s annual High School Hero Challenge.

This year-long competition separates participating high schools into four divisions based on size and encourages them to generate the highest number of blood donations for their division. Together these schools donated a combined total of 11,328 units of lifesaving blood for patients in the Coastal Bend.

This year’s winners are as follows:
