COORDINATORS OF THE MONTH HIGH SCHOOL HERO AWARDS 2010 OUT FOR BLOOD FUN RUN ![]() |
Coastal Bend Blood Center hosted its High School Hero Challenge awards luncheon to honor the 48 area high schools that participate in the organization’s annual blood drive competition. CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS. May 19, 2010 – Over 150 students, teachers and staff representing 48 Coastal Bend high schools gathered at 12:00 pm on Thursday, May 19th at Mansion Royal to celebrate the conclusion of the Coastal Bend Blood Center’s annual High School Hero Challenge. This year-long competition separates participating high schools into four divisions based on size and encourages them to generate the highest number of blood donations for their division. Together these schools donated a combined total of 8,932 units of lifesaving blood for patients in the Coastal Bend.
