Blood Needs Approximately 30,000 caring individuals volunteer as blood donors in the Coastal Bend each year.

Due to the needs of patients in our area medical facilities, inventory levels are constantly changing.  In order to provide a safe and adequate blood supply for the Coastal Bend, more than 120 people must register to give blood each day.

Our current red blood cell inventory levels are listed below according to blood type:

If your blood type is currently in the optimal range, your donation can help to keep the inventory from falling below required levels.  You may also consider giving platelets through apheresis; for more information go to Types of Donations.
